Taking Students to a Whole New World™
We fund international and domestic field trips for public high schools in the New York City metropolitan area.
MISSION
To expose students in under-served communities to a world beyond their own, to broaden their intellectual and cultural horizons, and to show them what it truly means to become a global citizen. Help our leaders of tomorrow start building bridges today.
A Non-Profit Organization for School Trip Funding
When budgets get cut, field trips are often the first to go. The Trip Foundation helps bridge the gap, providing funds for public high schools in underserved areas so all students can have an opportunity to explore a world so many of us take for granted. It is within that spirit that our organization was founded. We focus on three key service areas:
- All Abroad: We believe students are citizens of the world and should have every opportunity to explore every corner of it. Students at the South Bronx Academy for Applied Media did just that--traveling to Seoul, South Korea as part of the school's Korean language program. The Trip Foundation provided more than 78% of the funds for supplies. It was a life-changing expedition for all parties involved. And so it was for students at the East Side Community High School, located on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Eleven students and three teachers traveled to South Africa, visiting the infamous Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years during his fight against apartheid. The group toured other historical sites and engaged with high school students in Cape Town.
- U Can! | College Tours: This initiative is designed to expose high school students to college life and the expectations that come with it. Your generous donation will help them prepare and turn dreams of higher education into reality. Click HERE to give to our HBCU College Tour campaign!
- E-Squared: We fund educational excursions and support experiential learning across a wide variety of disciplines, including STEAM and the humanities. Community service trips are also funded.
With your support, we can redefine the trajectory of young lives and create a world where education opens doors to endless opportunities. The journey starts here; let's make it accessible for everyone.
What Students and Teachers Are Saying
This trip will affect my future life because it was an opportunity of a lifetime. It helped me learn a new culture and this will benefit me for the rest of my life. I will never forget this, and even here in the US, I can practice the things I learned, like to be respectful and the importance of meeting new people. This experience is going to be influential for everyone that got to be a part of the South Korean excursion. Abraham, South Bronx Academy for Applied Media
The South Africa trip was a transformative experience for both my students and me, offering a unique opportunity for my students to step outside their comfort zones and immerse themselves in a different culture. They engaged directly with local communities, gaining firsthand insights into the complexities of South Africa’s history, including its struggles with apartheid and its ongoing efforts towards reconciliation and growth. This exposure fostered a deep sense of empathy, global awareness, and a commitment to social justice among the students.
Being able to travel abroad away from their families and forge stronger and new bonds with their peers in itself is an amazing experience. The way the students looked out for each other, learned about each other and themselves as individuals was priceless. The experience also encouraged personal growth, as students developed greater independence, resilience, and a collaborative spirit by navigating new environments and challenges together.
For me, the trip was equally impactful. Witnessing my students' growth and their responses to the diverse experiences reaffirmed the importance of educating our students outside of the classroom. It was a reminder of the interconnectedness of our world and the role educators play in fostering a generation of thoughtful, compassionate global citizens. Karisa Jones, East Side Community High School
At the 35th Annual Vehicle Show, I was able to explore the many strands and stations set up by companies that were there to promote. They generously gave out free things in order to show us how their business operates. I learned that there are many components that cars have that are vital to their functioning. The friendly people there were able to articulate this to me in a way which I could understand. I was able to enjoy the scenery with my friends while admiring the hard work these people have put into their classes.
